Travis, Colette and I put together one HELLUVA BloMa mix...from SCRATCH!!!
In addition to the basics, we added: 2 habaneros, 2 vodka soaked Thai Dragon peppers, a dash of vinegar, salt, and cumin. Methinks. It's a bit fuzzy, being that Smoke was doing her usual damage to our poor leetle brains...
It came out really lumpy, since we just used a Kitchenaide hand mixer to blend it. But then, I put the concoction in Travis' juicer and....ouila! We had a very hot, very tasty mix!!!
Stay tuned...

You're crazy!!
That shit's toxic!
(But then again... that means you'll be staying away from my mimosas! Yay!!) -
-
why does the southpark episode where cartman has explosive fiery farts come to mind?

We used Roma tomatoes, blanched, peeled and deseeded, and then simmered down into a mushy paste, having added the habs, vinegar, salt and other goodies in the process. I think Colette added the Worschester at this point, but next time I'll hold off until actually making the drinks, as I don't think Worschester does well under heat...i.e...I couldn't taste it at all...

wow, i'm impressed
u guys are serious bloma jedi -

that shit on saturday was of epic bloma proportions. amazing amazing. maybe less on the yellow pepper next time, but it was still pretty damn good, just a tad spicy for my poor tastebuds.
keep up the good work. -
-
It's all about experimentation, and I admit to having a bit too much mad scientist's glee in me when I made that batch.
Next time, I will not put the yellow pepper in, nor, perhaps, the hab.
Next time, I'll just use those scrumptious FM "early girl" tomatoes and let their taste dominate.
Thank you, o' willing BloMa test subjects everywhere!!! -
-
i'll be your test subject any day!
-
-
Aww, thanks Lex. I promise it'll be less painful and more tasty next time!
Now, go have a Zeitgiest BloMa for us in SB!!! -
-
ok, i have to let you know that the hab was a VERY GOOD IDEA. i don't really like spice that much (don't tell augs!), but that infusion made me want grab a handful of hab and rub it all over my naked lithesome (yeah, maybe when i was 20) body. i mean, holy shit.
we're starting a proper bloma contingent up here, but before we start buying supplies, which vodka do you recommend to infuse with? i saw you had sky vodka? i was thinking of geting stoli's because of the bite... -
-
I would say that in doesn't really matter what kind of vodka you have in a bloody although I tend not to go any cheaper than popov. I find skyy and absolut to be my most commonly used vodka for blomas. I have had a bloma with Belvedere before and I didn't in some ways I think I like a slightly rougher, harsher vodka in a bloma because it can bite through the spice a bit.

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.aha! i just went off on that rant in the other open thread on this tribe. cheap vodka=ftw.
-
-
ps... IS there anything cheaper than popov? :)

Yes, Takkaa. Ewwww. And then there is always the store brands which come in a quickly decomposing plastic jug which sheds taste into the yodkah. Not good. I'd say never dip below a glass container if avoidable.
I feel inclined to post here now that I've been to Zeitgeist and tasted the goodness. Blomas have done their growing on me and it's the fault of all of you. Thanks.
